The Ike Foundation- Live, Fish, and Pass On
OutreachFounded in 2014 by Mike and Becky Iaconelli, the mission of the Ike Foundation is to get more kids involved in fishing. Through the Ike Foundation, both rural and inner-city kids are given the opportunity to experience fishing, many for the first time. The Ike Foundation has held events throughout the country and changed countless lives. Over the years, The Ike Foundation has sponsored organizations such as The Boys & Girls Club and others to get more kids fishing. Thanks to sponsors such as Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, Abu Garcia, and Hobie (to name a few), Thanks to sponsors such as Walmart, Bass Pro Shops, Abu Garcia, and Hobie (to name a few), the Ike Foundation has changed kid’s lives forever. Thanks to The Ike Foundation, many of the kids who would have never gotten their hands on a rod and reel have the opportunity to feel the rush of their first bite, learn critical lessons about conservation, and walk away with a life-long passion for fishing.
“My grandfather took me on my first fishing trip for shad when I was three years old on the Delaware River. That experience with my grandfather changed my life… If I didn’t have fishing I wouldn’t be where I am today… (I) realize that I was that little kid that The Ike Foundation raises money for,” shared musician and angler Rich Ortiz. Rich’s story mirrors that of so many in the fishing industry. Thanks to Mike and Becky, their legacy of live, fish, and pass on will live on for many years to come.
Power-Pole is proud to work with The Ike Foundation and to continue contributing to the growth of the sport of fishing as well as the empowerment of kids nationwide. Don’t forget to #HookEmEarly !
