CASTnet team takes on E.G. Simmons Park
CommunityIt was a chilly morning, the kind that calls for hot cocoa and blankets. Nonetheless, the CASTnet team was up bright and early ready to clean up every nook and cranny of E.G. Simmons Park located in Tampa Bay. Employees were accompanied by their significant others, children- even dogs! Armed with gloves, trash bags, and plenty of caffeine the teams were off.
Separate groups divided and conquered various parts of the park. There was plenty to be cleaned up in and around the mangroves, boat ramp, and on the beach. At first glance, the park was spotless, however, once the teams started digging deeper into the mangroves they found the majority of what needed to be cleaned up. A wide variety of trash was collected everything from beer bottles, several flip-flops, even an abandoned grill!
The clean-up provided JL Marine employees an opportunity to connect on a deeper level as well as give back to the community. As 2022 quickly approaches, Power-Pole’s CASTnet team will be organizing more community service activities in and around the Tampa Bay area.
